Our wonderful Rebecca got very close in the special techniques category (6th out of 49!). She demonstrated amazing courage during her sparring bouts and great standard during her patterns rounds but unfortunately wasn't able to secure a medal this time round. At only 13 years old she has learnt so much and she still has so much to give. We are proud of you Rebecca Alexander.

We are also proud that we have contributed to bring England up to 4th position in the league table out of 46 countries

Thank you to Mr David Spiller (Lead Instructor at Cambridge TKD) for coaching the team the entire week, you did a fab job and your support was crucial.

Thank you to the ITF World Cup organisation committee, umpires and referees for putting together such and incredible event allowing us all to learn and grow. And finally thank you to all our members, facebook guests, friends and family for all their support, messages of best wishes and luck throughout our week away, your love and belief in us kept us going.

Young Adults Achieve BLACK BELT october

This group of young Black Tags have trained in Taekwon-Do for between 6 and 7 years. On October 9th all that training was condensed into a 4 hour Black Belt grading.

Every technique, every kick, every pattern, from when they were white belt upwards, sparring, 2 onto 1 sparring, destruction, set sparring, examiners choice techniques, self defence, leadership skills and theory, nothing was left out, testing their endurance, indomitable spirit and perseverance. Delighted to announce that they all passed the exam.

On the 16th of October, in front of a large audience made up of their team mates and lots of parents, we celebrated together and presented them with their new belts, certificates and new doboks. It was an emotional evening, a big celebration of a great achievement. We also managed to embarrass them a little by collecting a series of photo's from when they joined and much younger and put together a powerpoint presentation for everyone to enjoy, a wonderful trip down memory lane. Well done to you all, we are very proud.
